  • Sam Douthwaite (LEAD ELDEr)

    Sam is the Lead Elder of The Gateway Church. Before that he worked with Street Pastors for seven years in a local and regional capacity. Sam is married to Liz and they have two young children. He has a real passion to see the church growing in love for Jesus and fulfilling the Great Commission from the place of prevailing prayer. Sam is a member of Together in Christ Tyneside and regularly attends the Tyneside Leaders Forum - a movement seeking to foster unity in the local church. 



  • Jim Hall (ELDER)

    Jim is married to Jessica and together they planted The Gateway Church. 

    Growing up on a farm, Jim left the rural life behind after heeding the call to become an evangelist. He's ministered all over the UK and beyond as an evangelist and church planter. He has a particular desire to see the church receive revelation on God's overall plan for world redemption, and walk in the fullness of her identity as a House of Prayer. Jim handed over the leadership of the church to Sam in 2012 and was reappointed as an Elder in 2016.

    Jim and Jessica have three sons, one daughter and twelve grandchildren. 


  • Jessica Hall (LEAD Deacon)

    Jessica Hall, married to Jim Hall (Elder) is Senior Deacon at The Gateway Church. She is a retired teacher and grandmother to 12 grandchildren. She leads a prayer group on a Monday morning, supports the work of with Tabitha's Place and helps out with the children's ministry on a Sunday morning. Her desire is to be a light wherever she is and to encourage others to grow in their life in God through a personal relationship with Jesus.


  • Kemi Olatunji (Deacon)

    Kemi, having worked as a lecturer in Higher Education in Nigeria for ten years and subsequently in different care settings in Ireland and Newcastle has been prepared for her current role as deacon. Her main focus is to spend time with the Lord in the Word and in prayer, and from this place of communion, to reach out as the Lord leads. Kemi's goal is to see the oppressed set free and peoples' lives reflect the glory of the One who made them, mainly through the agency of prevailing prayer.


  • Jonny Tuck (Deacon)

    Since September 2016 Jonny has been working alongside Sam supporting the work of The Gateway Church. Before working full time for The Gateway Church he worked as a teaching assistant at King Edward VI School Morpeth and Youth for Christ North East before that. After feeling the call into full time ministry Jonny joined the staff at Gateway and serves by closely supporting Sam, serving at Tabitha's place and helping facilitate The Sanctuary Prayer Room. He has been married to his wife Shanagh since August 2014.

  • Olly Seymour (Leader of young people's Ministry)

    Olly gives leadership to The Gateway Church's Children's and Youth ministry. He has a passion to see young people discipled to live wholeheartedly for Jesus. Olly has previously given leadership to Scripture Union camps and prior to joining The Gateway Church, he was youth leader at St Luke's Newcastle. Olly is a primary school teacher by profession. He is married to Mags and they have three young children.

  • Liz Douthwaite (Music Coordinator)

    Liz Douthwaite gives oversight to the musicians, singers and worship leaders within The Gateway Church. Liz holds a deep seated desire to see worship and prayer ascend to the throne of God. This longing began after she attended the IHOPKC prayer room in 1999, at the inception of their 24/7 prayer ministy. She is a passionate worship leader and songwriter who longs to see people encounter Jesus and experience the transformation that only He can offer. 

    Liz is married to Sam and she is a mother to two young children. 

  • SHANGH tuck (Director of Tabitha's place)

    As of May 2017, Shanagh, who is married to Jonny Tuck, has been giving leadership to our children's clothes bank Tabitha's Place. This ministry sees clothing being provided for children who otherwise would have to go without. Shanagh is a qualified teacher, and as well as leading Tabitha's Place she does 1:1 private tutoring. She has a passion for the well being of young children and also gives herself to supporting the children's and youth work at Gateway.
